Wilson Sonsini's energy practice is recruiting 3rd to 7th year associates with a transactional focus in the energy sector. The ideal candidate will be comfortable analyzing and drafting key project development contracts such as power purchase agreements and other offtake arrangements, working on framework commercial agreements and joint venture transactions, and serving as the go-to associate on project and portfolio acquisitions and related financing support. An ability to use and adapt a range of commercial structures for solar, wind, geothermal, natural gas, battery, nuclear projects, and data center and utility buyers will be valuable; a desire to develop mastery of structuring and negotiating energy project development transactions will be essential. This position will involve daily direct contact with a wide range of clients, Wilson Sonsini partners, and counterparty counsel, so strong communication and project management skills are required. Our ECS team is located in our Boston, DC, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Seattle offices and would welcome attorneys who want to join the team in those locations and advance our mission. We may consider other office locations.

The compensation range and benefits for this role are described below.
  • Salary range of $260,000 - $420,000, based on year classification.
  • Discretionary merit bonuses may also be awarded.
