This role combines sophisticated litigation work with proactive client counseling, providing businesses, governmental entities, and individuals with practical legal solutions and trusted representation.
What You'll Do:
- Manage all phases of civil litigation, from case assessment through trial, appeal, or resolution.
- Represent clients in litigation, administrative proceedings, investigations, mediations, arbitrations, and negotiations.
- Advise employers on federal, state, and local employment law compliance.
- Counsel clients on workplace investigations, employee relations, accommodations, leave issues, wage and hour compliance, discipline, and termination decisions.
- Draft and review employment-related documents, policies, handbooks, and agreements.
- Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development and practice growth.
What We're Looking For:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active Iowa law license or the ability to obtain admission promptly.
- Five or more years of employment, labor, and/or litigation experience.
- Strong legal writing, research, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills.
- Ability to independently manage client relationships and a caseload.
