Goosmann Law Firm is seeking an experienced, strategic Employment Attorney who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven legal professional with a strong background in employment and labor law to work with clients on matters including litigation, compliance, and complex workplace issues. Candidates may be based in any of our three office locations - Omaha, Nebraska; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; or Sioux City, Iowa.Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients (employers or employees) on employment law matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage/hour issues, and wrongful termination
- Represent clients in litigation, mediation, arbitration, and before administrative agencies (e.g., EEOC, NLRB)
- Draft and revise employment contracts, handbooks, severance agreements, and workplace policies
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, etc.)
- Manage all phases of employment litigation, including discovery, motions, and trial
- Negotiate settlements and handle union matters, including collective bargaining
- Conduct internal investigations and provide compliance training and risk management guidance
- Communicate legal strategies and manage multiple cases simultaneously
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law
- 3–7+ years of employment or labor law experience (litigation experience preferred)
- Strong litigation, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication
