About the Employment Section
Our employment attorneys have a broad institutional knowledge of, and advise on, the numerous federal, state, and local employment laws that apply to employers in different industries. We represent clients in all types of employment-related litigation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) proceedings. We also help clients ensure compliance with complex employee benefit requirements and advise them on the laws and regulations covering deferred compensation and equity-based compensation as well as health, retirement and other fringe benefits.

Responsibilities:
Mintz is seeking an associate with 3+ years of employment law experience to join our team in San Diego. Responsibilities will include working on all aspects of employment litigation (e.g., discrimination, leave, wage and hour, non-compete and breach of contract matters), everyday employment and HR-related counseling, drafting of employment-related policies and agreements, and conducting investigations and trainings.

Collaboration with team members is an important component of any role at Mintz. Therefore, the firm requires working from the office approximately 60% of the time in accordance with the firm's published guidelines.

Qualifications:
  • Graduated with a JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Must be admitted or eligible for admission in California
  • At least three years of employment law experience
  • Employment litigation before state and federal courts and administrative agencies
  • Advising employers on employment-related compliance matters
  • Drafting employment policies and employment-related agreements, including employee handbooks, employment agreements, and separation agreements.
  • Conducting investigations
  • Delivering employment-related compliance training
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, stay organized and exercise attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings
