  • A successful candidate will be detail-oriented and be able to both work effectively as part of a team while also being able to assume individual responsibility for client matters involving direct client interaction.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills are required. Successful candidates will also possess a drive for excellence and willingness to take initiative to solve problems.
  • Candidates must be currently licensed in Virginia, immediate waive into Virginia, or be a member of the bar in one or more US Jurisdictions and willing to sit for the Virginia bar.

Team Benefits and Highlights:
  • Communication/Regular Feedback – Weekly team meetings, Wednesdays at Noon where we discuss material changes impacting our clients, interesting work we have done, challenges we have faced, team member workload and our marketing commitments.
  • Professional Brand Building Opportunities – There are ample opportunities to share knowledge and build your brand through participation in legal alert writing, speaking at firm or industry webinars/seminars and guesting on our podcast The Benefits Companion.
  • One-on-One Business Development Mentorship – In addition to your weekly team meetings, which are attended by your Business Development Manager, you will also meet with your Business Development Manager quarterly to discuss progress on your individual development plan, confirm engagement in business development skill building along with opportunities to trouble shoot and receive feedback.
  • Client Interaction – Early in your career, you will be part of our complete client team and called upon to help us be responsive to our client needs as well as help us present our capabilities to new clients.
  • Marketing Budget – You will have a marketing budget that will support your direct marketing efforts for building relationships with future clients.

We value our associates' professional development and ensure there are plenty of firm resources dedicated to that pursuit. Associates regularly participate in bar associations, community activities and pro bono work, and Williams Mullen's Business Development Team takes an active role in providing these important opportunities. Plus, Williams Mullen is a great place to work!
