What We're Looking For:
Our ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant litigation experience, with direct Elder Abuse experience strongly preferred.

Candidates should be comfortable managing cases, developing litigation strategy, appearing in court, taking and defending depositions, participating in mediations and arbitrations, and preparing matters for trial.

You must be admitted to the State Bar of California and able to travel throughout California as necessary for court appearances, depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials.

Attorneys with strong Elder Abuse experience who need additional exposure to Personal Injury matters are encouraged to apply. We can provide training in Personal Injury law.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Elder Abuse and Personal Injury litigation matters
  • Develop case strategy from initial evaluation through resolution
  • Draft complaints, pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents
  • Prepare mediation, arbitration, and trial briefs
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Review medical records and other case evidence
  • Work with experts and other professionals as necessary
  • Evaluate damages and settlement opportunities
  • Negotiate settlements
  • Maintain regular communication with clients
  • Meet court, discovery, and internal deadlines
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, case managers, and support staff
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members when appropriate

Qualifications:
  • Active California Bar license in good standing
  • 5+ years of relevant litigation experience preferred
  • Elder Abuse litigation experience strongly preferred
  • Plaintiff-side experience preferred, although qualified defense attorneys are encouraged to apply
  • Personal Injury litigation experience is a plus
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Strong deposition and courtroom skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Leadership skills and the ability to effectively guide support staff
  • Genuine passion for advocating for injured individuals and their families
