For over a decade, Omega Law has provided compassionate, high-quality legal representation to California's most vulnerable communities. As part of our commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of older adults, we are expanding our Elder Justice practice and seeking an Elder Abuse Attorney to join our team.
The Elder Abuse Attorney will provide direct legal services and advocacy for older and dependent adults experiencing abuse, neglect, or exploitation. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of seniors and dependent adults by ensuring their safety, autonomy, and access to justice.
Responsibilities:
- Provide client-centered, trauma-informed representation in nursing home abuse and neglect cases, including intake, investigation, negotiation, and litigation.
- Handle cases involving injuries, neglect, financial exploitation, and wrongful death in long-term care or assisted living facilities.
- Collaborate with medical experts, investigators, and social service agencies to build strong cases and achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
- Participate in strategy sessions, case reviews, and firm meetings to move the cases.
- Mentor or collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and co-counsel on assigned matters.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Active member of the CA Bar in good standing (required).
- Minimum 3-5 years of elder abuse attorney experience, including litigation (required).
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in elder law, conservatorships, restraining orders, or protective proceedings.
- Excellent written and oral advocacy, and negotiations skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Proficiency in case management system
- Bilingual proficiency (especially in Spanish) highly desirable.
Compensation:
Salary Range: $120k – $200,000+ (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
