What we are looking for:
We are seeking a Director of Compliance, Associate General Counsel, to serve as in-house legal counsel and compliance leader for Lighthouse Electric Company. This individual will be a key member of the Executive Management Team, providing strategic legal guidance, compliance oversight, and risk management support across multiple divisions including Human Resources, Accounting & Finance, Project Management, and Safety.

The ideal candidate is a trusted advisor with strong business judgment, exceptional communication skills, and a hands-on approach to solving complex legal and operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as primary legal advisor to executive leadership and business units.
  • Oversee all aspects of compliance, governance, and risk management.
  • Review and negotiate contracts, including purchase orders, service agreements, and confidentiality/non-compete documents.
  • Represent Lighthouse in litigation, settlement negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations; coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
  • Ensure company compliance with regulatory agencies (OSHA, EEOC/PHRC, DEP/EPA) and lead internal investigations.
  • Manage insurance claims, policy renewals, and correspondence with carriers and adjusters.
  • Advise on tax compliance and Department of Revenue audits.
  • Support HR with employment law matters, policy development, and training.
  • Oversee corporate recordkeeping, licensing, and permitting processes.
  • Provide project management support related to contract interpretation, disputes, and claims.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Pennsylvania (federal court admission preferred).
  • 8+ years of legal experience, preferably in corporate, construction, or compliance law.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and provide practical business solutions.
