As a part of the A Global Material Solutions Company Legal Team, the Director Legal role will empower you to advise and support the Glass Recycling (GR) activity in North America from a legal perspective.

Your Impact in This Role
As the Director Legal, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Working closely with the GR Senior Management Team to understand the commercial process, as well as the complexity of procurement, production, quality, assessing risks and liability, you are a hands-on generalist able to advise on a wide range of legal subjects, such as contracts, disputes with vendors and customers, employment, sales, etc.
  • You will improve processes, build systems and assist in the full integration of a recent acquisition into A Global Material Solutions Company.
  • You will bring a strong commercial acumen, with experience in procurement, negotiating, amending or managing contracts, as well as thoughtful supply, sales and CAPEX agreements. You will be able to work on your own, as well as working closely with a number of external specialist law firms.
  • You are a hands-on lawyer, as much at ease with legal projects or troubleshooting in an industrial environment, understanding the complexity of procurement, production, supply and demand, quality, delivery deadlines and will have good litigation skills and experience.
  • You will support with reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of national and international business-related contracts with third parties.
  • You will be working in a dynamic, global environment where you will partner with internal customers and/or senior management to provide practical guidance regarding legal risks where applicable law, regulations or facts of the case are unclear, controversial or conflicting.
  • On occasions, you will be part of integrated global project teams, to support complex projects locally and abroad from start to finish.

What you bring to the table:
  • Juris Doctor/ Master Degree (or equivalent) in Law 
  • 5-7 years of experience in a senior legal role in an international organization or as a senior associate practicing law in a large law firm
  • English – fluent verbal & writing
