About the role:
As a senior member of the legal and compliance team, reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you will be supporting the company's strategic initiatives, which are dynamic and adaptive, our compliance with regulations including developing AI regulations, our growing intellectual property, and our world-class information security programs. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant business impact in a rapidly evolving late-stage start-up environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead projects of significant importance to the company from a legal, risk, or policy perspective, with significant time spent on supporting complex deal structures, infoSec support, and compliance activities including AI regulatory compliance.
  • Provide timely legal advice to management for day-to-day matters and special projects.
  • Advance customer and partner interactions on complex legal and compliance issues with no clear division of labor.
  • Enhance the company's compliance of regulations, including Human Resource related laws and regulations (state and federal and international).
  • Support timely closure of complex deal negotiations, including negotiations on complex IP issues.
  • Support information security programs including building customer trust and supporting external audits.
  • Improve operational muscles, spot and fix issues in systems and processes used by legal/compliance personnel and associated stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement global policies, processes, and standards to support all business units.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10+ years of legal and compliance experience, with a proven track of growth in responsibilities in a law firm or in an in-house setting.
  • Responsiveness and ability to turn around projects at the fast speed of the business.
  • Proven ability to work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expert experiences in IP, security programs, privacy laws, and evolving AI developments.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity.
  • Ownership mentality and curiosity to learn.
