Summary:
The Deputy Legal Counsel supports the General Counsel in managing the company's legal affairs and provides strategic, practical legal guidance across the organization. This role partners closely with executive leadership and business teams to mitigate risk, ensure compliance, and support operational and commercial objectives within a manufacturing and construction environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the General Counsel in overseeing all legal matters for the company, including contracts, compliance, litigation, and corporate governance
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including customer contracts, supplier agreements, NDAs, service agreements, and subcontractor agreements
  • Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders on operational, commercial, and employment-related matters
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations applicable to manufacturing, construction, and industrial operations
  • Manage and coordinate with outside counsel as needed, including oversight of litigation and specialized legal matters
  • Assist with risk management initiatives, including claims, disputes, and insurance-related matters
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions, including due diligence and integration activities
  • Help develop, implement, and maintain internal policies, procedures, and training related to legal and compliance matters
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting the business and proactively advise leadership
  • Step in for the General Counsel as needed and support leadership in high-priority or sensitive legal matters

Education and Experience:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in the State of Texas (or ability to obtain)
  • 7+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in-house or with significant exposure to manufacturing, construction, engineering, or industrial services
  • Strong experience in contract drafting and negotiation
  • Working knowledge of employment law, commercial law, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience managing outside counsel and legal budgets preferred
  • Excellent judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives in a fast-paced environment
  • In-house legal experience within a manufacturing or EPC environment
  • Familiarity with government contracts, supply chain agreements, or large-scale project work
  • Experience supporting multi-state operations

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to reach, stand, walk, use fingers, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and to perform repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
