Job Details:
  • Full-time 40-hour work weeks.
  • Supports the Grants Management Division
  • Salary commensurate with experience up to $125,000

  • Interprets existing federal code, state law, regulations, and opinions of the courts and those of the Attorney General and provides legal advice and counsel to the Director of the Grants Management Office.
  • Knowledgeable and able to advise compliance with Title 2, Part 200 of the Federal Code of Regulations.
  • Researches and analyzes complex factual and legal issues in many areas of State and Federal law and prepares legal opinions, memorandums of fact and law, and other legal documents.
  • Assists in drafting bills and amendments for legislative consideration, completes reports on changes in legislation, evaluates proposed legislation and makes recommendations for agency action in response thereto.
  • Advises on law, regulations, legal opinions, administrative policy involved in the operation of the agency and its contacts with industry, private or professional associations, state, federal, or local government, and the general public.
  • Drafts communications and correspondence as required for the Grants Management Director.
  • Designs, develops, implements, and interprets grants/assistance management policies, procedures, and practices.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position works in a comfortable office setting, and the noise level is usually mild. Ability to occasionally lift paper and office supplies and to perform job duties on a computer and telephone for 6-8 hours per day is necessary. Occasional travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Oklahoma

Preference will be given to candidates who possess
  • Seven (7) years legal experience as a licensed attorney.
  • Existing experience working in Title 2 CFR Part 200. (
  • Experience as a governmental lawyer.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and experience regarding the legal authority governing A Government Entity.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in grants management either through serving as a grants manager or legal counsel.
  • Experience in grants application.
  • Experience in grant writing.
