About the role:We are looking for an entrepreneurial, nimble, and innovative attorney to join our team of builders. Reporting to our General Counsel, you will act as a right hand in all legal matters across the A Private Family Company domestic and international portfolio including new business acquisition, compliance and risk initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to work across a variety of industries alongside our founder and highly strategic executive team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and support on a broad range of corporate matters, including corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements and contracts.
- Stay abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations and ensure the company's compliance.
- Provide guidance on labor and employment law issues, ensuring the company's practices align with legal requirements.
- Lead and oversee legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
- Participate in due diligence on potential transactions and provide legal guidance on deal structures.
- Advise on legal matters related to family office activities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address legal needs specific to family office operations.
- Provide guidance on wealth management and succession planning.
- Partner with legal groups within portfolio businesses and verticals.
Required Experience:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school with a strong academic background
- 3-6 years' experience practicing law, preferably with a focus on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and/or asset management
- Exposure to cross-border and international legal affairs
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
