The Office of Judicial Administration is responsible for the efficient administration of all agencies that operate under the direction of the Chief Justice and the Supreme Court. That includes 200 personnel; fiscal management; communication; technology; legal services; intergovernmental relations; services for the trial courts; and support for court boards, commissions, and committees. The Office is headed by Chief Administrative Officer Aaron Hood, who reports directly to the Chief Justice of Indiana and serves as the link between the Chief Justice and the agencies of the Court.Salary: The salary for this position traditionally starts at $93,000 but may be commensurate with education and/or experience.

About the Job:
This position serves as a Deputy General Counsel within the Office of General Counsel of the Indiana Supreme Court. The primary responsibility of the position is to act as legal advisor, in tandem with the General Counsel, to the judges of Indiana on legal issues affecting the operation of Indiana's court system and administrative functions. These issues may include ethics, employment law, public records access, liability and risk management.
A day in the life:
Serves as a subject matter resource for all the judges of Indiana on legal issues such as ethics, employment law, public records access, liability and risk management. This includes advising on ADA, FMLA, county versus court authority, anti-discrimination laws, and other employment laws. Provides training as requested on employment law and ethics issues and may assist in employment law investigations concerning the administration of the trial courts. Provide representation to judges and courts in administrative forums, including but not limited to Department of Workforce Development, EEOC, and ICRC. Review staff handbooks and draft employment policies. Provides attorney and staff support for various judicial and multi-branch interdisciplinary governmental committees. Assists with the processing of praecipes filed under Trial Rule 53.1 and 53.2. Assists with the coordination of special judge appointments. Serves as ADA Coordinator for the Indiana Supreme Court and its agencies.
