Job Requirements:
Responsibilities:
  • Intellectual Property Management: Spearhead the strategic management of the company's intellectual property portfolio.
  • Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Engage in the drafting, review and negotiation of a diverse array of contracts, ranging from vendor agreements to licensing agreements, with a keen eye on IP-related clauses and considerations.
  • Corporate Governance: Provide astute legal counsel and support on corporate governance matters, ensuring adherence to pertinent laws and regulations while fostering a culture of compliance within the organization.
  • Litigation Management: Assist in the oversight and management of litigation and other legal disputes, leveraging a judicious blend of legal acumen and strategic insight to navigate complexities effectively.
  • Legal Research and Analysis: Undertake comprehensive legal research and analysis on various corporate legal issues, furnishing actionable insights and informed recommendations to guide decision-making processes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Foster collaborative partnerships with internal stakeholders, including executives, managers and cross-functional teams, to furnish expert legal guidance and facilitate seamless operational workflows.

Qualifications:
Educational requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar and in good standing.

Relevant experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law with a focus on intellectual property.
  • Experience working in the chemical industry or with chemical-related technologies.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of intellectual property law, including patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret law.
  • Experience managing a large intellectual property portfolio.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide practical legal guidance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in the chemical industry or a related field.
  • Degree (e.g., Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD) in a scientific or technical field.
