Job Requirements:Responsibilities:
- Intellectual Property Management: Spearhead the strategic management of the company's intellectual property portfolio.
- Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Engage in the drafting, review and negotiation of a diverse array of contracts, ranging from vendor agreements to licensing agreements, with a keen eye on IP-related clauses and considerations.
- Corporate Governance: Provide astute legal counsel and support on corporate governance matters, ensuring adherence to pertinent laws and regulations while fostering a culture of compliance within the organization.
- Litigation Management: Assist in the oversight and management of litigation and other legal disputes, leveraging a judicious blend of legal acumen and strategic insight to navigate complexities effectively.
- Legal Research and Analysis: Undertake comprehensive legal research and analysis on various corporate legal issues, furnishing actionable insights and informed recommendations to guide decision-making processes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Foster collaborative partnerships with internal stakeholders, including executives, managers and cross-functional teams, to furnish expert legal guidance and facilitate seamless operational workflows.
Qualifications:
Educational requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
Relevant experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law with a focus on intellectual property.
- Experience working in the chemical industry or with chemical-related technologies.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of intellectual property law, including patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret law.
- Experience managing a large intellectual property portfolio.
- Excellent analytical, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide practical legal guidance.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the chemical industry or a related field.
