Description:
Summary/Objective:The Deputy General Counsel, Commercial Lending is responsible for providing sound legal advice on all lending matters affecting the bank, including perfecting security interests or liens in collateral, maintaining liens and security interests, appropriate documentation, and bankruptcy matters.
Essential Functions:
- Provide sound legal judgment with respect to the bank's lending processes, loan documentation, and workout.
- Oversee loan closings, both those conducted internally and externally, and ensure that work by our closing attorneys meets the bank's standards
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years' experience with reputable law firm or equivalent
- JD degree from accredited law school
- In depth knowledge of bankruptcy and other laws pertaining to creditors' rights
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience managing personnel, including other lawyers, would be helpful
- Experience as a clerk for bankruptcy court would be helpful
