Provides civil legal assistance to the City Council, departments, employees, boards and commissions; drafts resolutions, ordinances, contracts, advice letters, and memoranda; researches and interprets federal, state, and local laws and regulations; attends various internal and public meetings; represents the City in civil litigation, administrative hearings, contract negotiations, and other legal proceedings; reviews public records requests; and assists the City Attorney as needed, among other duties. This position requires competency in a variety of areas including, but not limited to, contracts, procurement, open meetings, employment, planning and zoning, and public records.

Applicant must have a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school, be a licensed and active member of the Idaho State Bar in good standing, and possess a valid driver's license. Two years of prior civil and/or criminal legal experience is preferred. Excellent legal research and writing skills and attention to detail is a must.
