Description:

DEPUTY ATTORNEY I (Legal Department): Reviews, processes, and advises on legal matters for A County in South Carolina. Duties include drafting various legal documents, prosecuting animal control and code enforcement cases, monitoring case workflow, assisting outside counsel on litigation, and representing the County on litigation handled in-house.

  • Requires a Juris Doctor degree, five (5) years of related work experience: or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • South Carolina Law License
  • Must have knowledge of legal processes and procedures, general policies of A County in South Carolina and related state laws, drafting legal documents and computer and related software applications
  • Must be skilled in assembling and organizing data and information, providing customer service, and using a computer and related software applications
  • Must have the ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, interact with coworkers, supervisor, attorneys, other courts and agencies, elected officials, and the general public, follow procedures, and prioritize and organize work
