Description:
The New Jersey Division of Law is organized into eight (8) practice groups, each overseen by an Assistant Attorney General in-charge and comprising a total of thirty-three (33) sections. These groups provide specialized legal support to various state agencies and cover a wide range of legal areas, including litigation, regulatory enforcement, and legal counsel.Duties: Under the direction
of the Section Chief and Assistant Section Chief and other supervisory
officials in Department of Law and Public Safety, Deputy Attorneys
General will provide counsel to and represent the various state
agencies, assist with strategic investigations; represents the various
state agencies and the Attorney General in litigation enforcing laws;
monitor judicial and legislative developments in law; participate in
multistate investigations and litigation; and perform other related work
as required.
Requirements:
- Education: Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor. Admission to practice as an Attorney-at-Law in the State of New Jersey is required.
- Experience: Two (2) years of experience as a practicing attorney.
- License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
