20 year Houston law firm with 30 lawyers is seeking an attorney. This attorney would ideally have 3+ years of litigation experience. The attorney should be comfortable handling a very manageable docket with minimal supervision. The firm has a team structure and respects a work/life balance.Job Description:
The lawyer would preferably have experience in civil litigation and insurance defense. The lawyer should have the communication skills, ability and experience sufficient to defend clients in a variety of civil litigation matters and ability to work both independently and as a member of a defense team. Responsibilities:
- Consult with clients, opposing counsel, and the judiciary.
- Coordinate the case handling with claims personnel.
- Argue motions, take effective depositions of lay and expert witnesses.
- Attend hearings, mediations, and conduct trials.
Education:
Juris Doctorate and member in good standing of Texas State Bar.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three to five years of experience in civil litigation.
- Deposition experience.
- Trial experience a plus.
- Background in general civil liability litigation.
- Insurance defense experience a plus.
