DLA Piper's seeks a Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Litigation associate with 4–6 years of experience to join its Data Protection, Privacy and Security team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data privacy and cybersecurity litigation, including defending clients in class actions and mass arbitrations under statutes such as CIPA, VPPA, and TCPA and in connection with data breaches. Experience in defending consumer protection class actions is necessary. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge privacy matters involving website analytics tools (e.g., Meta Pixel, session replay, chat features) and to advise clients on cybersecurity risks and compliance. Prior government service or military legal experience is highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in federal and state litigation involving privacy and cybersecurity statutes and data breach class actions.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents; conduct depositions and manage case strategy.
- Advise clients on regulatory compliance and risk mitigation related to emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-office teams on high-profile litigation and regulatory matters.
- Participate in pro bono initiatives.

Physical Demands:

Pay Transparency
The firm's expected hiring range for this position is $310,000 - $390,000 per year depending on the candidate's geographic market location. The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate's experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications.
