Parker Poe is seeking a 2–4-year Data Privacy Associate to support a growing data privacy and security practice. This role focuses on privacy, cybersecurity, AI, and data governance matters. The role involves regulatory counseling, product and program development, and drafting and negotiating technology and commercial agreements for sophisticated clients across industries. This position is not litigation‑focused, but data breach response experience is welcome.Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate data privacy and data security provisions in commercial agreements, including vendor agreements, SaaS agreements, licensing agreements, and other technology‑related contracts
- Experience with privacy compliance issues
- Collaborate with partners and senior associates on day‑to‑day transactional privacy matters
- Monitor developments in data privacy laws and regulations impacting commercial transactions
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice law or eligible for licensure in NC, SC, GA, or DC
- Interest or experience in data privacy, technology, or commercial contracts
- CIPP designation(s)
- Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- Willingness to participate in business development including speaking engagements
- Detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple matters in a collaborative environment
