Description:
As Senior Cybersecurity Counsel, you will serve as trusted legal advisor to Apple's security engineering and architecture teams, providing guidance on cybersecurity related aspects of Apple's hardware , software and services. This role will report through the Privacy Legal team and will offer the opportunity to work directly with key members of the cybersecurity, business, engineering and legal teams on a variety of cutting-edge projects.
Responsibilities:
- Serving as primary legal advisor to cybersecurity teams protecting Apple's hardware, software and services
- Advising Apple's threat intelligence teams, including on analysis, and sharing of threat data
- Tracking and analyzing evolving global cybersecurity regulations and standards, and working with regulatory and product legal teams to advise the business on compliance obligations
- Partnering with policy teams to evaluate, shape, and respond to proposed cybersecurity legislation, regulatory guidance, and industry standards that affect Apple's hardware products
- Supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of internal cybersecurity policies, governance frameworks, and compliance programs
- Responding to cybersecurity and privacy incidents
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience (either at a law firm, government agency, non-governmental organization, and/or in-house) in cybersecurity or privacy law
- Deep knowledge of cybersecurity laws, and regulatory and other guidance and standards
- JD or equivalent and admission to at least one US state bar
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience advising on cybersecurity issues related to hardware, software and services
- Experience with best practices related to threat intelligence and cybersecurity related investigations
- Able to clearly organize and inform through excellent written and verbal communications
- Ability to lead, take action, and provide direction in the face of ambiguity
- Experience quickly issue-spotting, analyzing, and clearly communicating legal advice on complex issues
- Ability to get results in diverse, fast paced environments
- Ability to multi-task across diverse business units and geographical boundaries
- Strong analytical capability with attention to detail
- Ability to partner at all levels of the organization
