Our busy law firm is a criminal defense firm that practices all over northern Ohio. We are well known for our aggressive approach to advocacy for clients and advancing their interests. Travel is a central part of the role and brings with it the ability to practice law in more than just one court, and in one jurisdiction.

We are looking for talented associates who want to work as part of a team, but still be able to manage their own cases. The prime candidate will work seamlessly with both senior partners as well as administrative staff in an effort to effectively serve our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Travel to courts all over Ohio to represent clients in criminal defense matters
  • Demand, collect, and review discovery in federal, and state felonies, and local misdemeanors
  • Communicate with clients and provide legal counsel to clients by analyzing their needs
  • Review and analyze evidence so that all legal challenges may be raised
  • Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions
  • Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings
  • Represent clients at trial as both a first-chair and second-chair attorney

Qualifications:
  • Public speaking, decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are necessary for this role
  • Strong knowledge of legal research programs such as Westlaw and Lexis products is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is necessary
  • Able to work independently while handling multiple files
