Job Description:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join our team at our San Jose office. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in criminal defense, with a minimum of 5 years of experience handling a wide range of cases, including felonies, misdemeanors, and white-collar crimes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in all stages of criminal proceedings, from arraignment through trial and appeal.
- Develop and implement effective defense strategies tailored to each client's unique situation.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analyze case law to support defense arguments.
- Negotiate with prosecutors to secure favorable plea agreements when appropriate.
- Advocate for clients in court, presenting compelling arguments and cross-examining witnesses.
- Maintain strong client relationships, providing clear communication and guidance throughout the legal process.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to ensure the highest quality of legal representation.
- Stay current with developments in criminal law and continuously improve legal knowledge and skills.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in California.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in criminal defense, with significant trial experience.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent negotiation and courtroom advocacy abilities.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with attention to detail and deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
