Description:
A well-established criminal defense practice is seeking a Senior Criminal Defense Attorney with extensive courtroom and trial experience. This role is intended for a seasoned litigator capable of independently managing serious criminal matters from intake through verdict.Responsibilities:
- Handle felony and misdemeanor criminal cases from inception through resolution, including jury trials
- Serve as lead trial counsel in state and/or federal criminal proceedings
- Advise clients on legal options, risks, and potential outcomes
- Negotiate with prosecutors and opposing counsel when appropriate
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior attorneys and legal staff
- Maintain accurate case files and comply with all ethical and procedural requirements
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active license and good standing with the CA state bar
- Minimum of 8–10+ years of criminal defense experience
- Demonstrated jury trial experience as lead counsel (required)
- Strong knowledge of criminal procedure, evidence, and constitutional law
- Excellent oral advocacy, writing, and client communication skills
- Ability to manage a substantial caseload independently
- Experience handling serious or high-stakes criminal matters strongly preferred
- Family law or civil litigation experience is a plus.
Pay: $200,000.00 - $350,000.00 per year
