Overview:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Criminal Defense Attorney with 2 to 5+ years of legal practice in Arizona to join our dedicated team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to advocate for clients facing criminal charges, providing strategic legal counsel and vigorous representation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in criminal law, excellent negotiation skills, and a passion for justice. You will be instrumental in managing complex cases, conducting thorough legal research, and developing compelling defense strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
Duties:
- Represent clients in criminal proceedings, including arraignments, hearings, trials, and plea negotiations.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal databases to build robust defense strategies.
- Draft and review legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and appeals with precision and clarity.
- Engage in negotiations with prosecutors to seek favorable plea agreements or dismissals.
- Manage case files meticulously, ensuring all documentation complies with legal standards and deadlines.
- Provide expert advice on various areas of law including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and more.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients to update them on case progress and legal options while offering empathetic support throughout the process.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active licensure to practice in Arizona.
- Minimum of two years' experience practicing criminal defense within Arizona courts.
- Proven expertise in litigation procedures and courtroom advocacy.
- Strong negotiation skills capable of securing advantageous resolutions for clients.
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis; experience with Westlaw preferred.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting clear and persuasive legal documents.
- Familiarity with a broad spectrum of legal areas including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, family law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, among others.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
