Established, well respected, Minneapolis Criminal Defense Law Firm seeks attorney to join our dynamic, fast-growing practice. This is an outstanding opportunity for professional growth, court room experience and financial compensation. All information will be kept confidential.

Ideal candidate will have: Candidate will have 2* or more *years of criminal defense or prosecution experience as a licensed and practicing attorney.

Compensation: Based upon qualifications:
  • $100,000 - $150,000 per year
  • Includes: Salary; Commission/Bonus

License / Certification:
  • License to practice law in Minnesota (Required)
  • Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited Law School (Required)
  • Work authorization (Required)

Required Job Qualifications:
  • Candidate will have Minimum of 2* or more *years of criminal defense or prosecution experience as a licensed and practicing attorney.
  • Must be prepared to handle a caseload of files upon starting.
  • Must have significant experience in handling all aspects of representing clients from start to finish, in and out of court.
  • All candidates must possess a valid driver license and have a reliable means of transportation for performance of work responsibilities.
  • All candidates must reside in eight county metro area or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities:
Candidate will:
  • Handle your own caseload.
  • Handle all aspects of representing clients start to finish with skill, respect and caring.
  • Advise clients on all legal issues.
  • Negotiate settlement for clients.
  • Independently handle jury and court trials, motions, briefs, drafting of legal documents, appeals, contested cases and all other court appearances.
  • Answer/respond to all client's telephone calls, emails, texts, internet submissions, website submissions in a professional, caring timely manner.
  • Utilize, adhere to, and follow firms' systems, process, procedure, and instructions for all aspects of firm's administrative, case, and firm management.
  • Work alternating on call (non-business hours)
  • Client intake: On call and during work hours, taking call from people in and out of custody.
  • Answer/respond to all client's and potential clients telephone calls, emails, texts, internet submissions, website submissions.
  • Set up appointments and meet potential clients to advise and be retained
  • Go to jails or to meet on call in and out of custody persons to advise and be retained.
  • Obtain release of in-custody on call client by setting and orchestrating bail/conditions of release.
  • Perform all other duties as required or assigned.

Work Location:
Office location: 2915 Wayzata Blvd. S, Minneapolis MN 55405, but must appear in court across Minnesota where court appearances are county-to-county

Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday
  • Work the days and hours necessary to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks.
  • Must be available (especially during regular business hours or shifts) to communicate and collaborate with other attorneys, supervisors, clients, potential clients or any other person or organization with whom interaction is required to accomplish work and employer goals.
  • Work alternating schedule on scheduled weekends for on call (non-business hours).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
