Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is prepared to handle a broad range of criminal matters, including misdemeanors, felonies, and complex cases involving serious or high-exposure charges. Responsibilities include managing cases from initial appearance through trial, conducting legal research, drafting motions, negotiating with prosecutors, and providing strategic counsel to clients. All candidates should possess strong academic credentials, be self-motivated, and demonstrate exceptional courtroom advocacy, writing skills, and attention to detail.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Represent clients in misdemeanor and felony criminal matters pending in state courts
  • Draft and argue motions, including motions to dismiss, suppress evidence, and other pretrial and dispositive motions; prepare pleadings, briefs, and legal memoranda
  • Conduct and manage all phases of discovery, including reviewing evidence, analyzing police reports, coordination with investigators, and interviewing witnesses
  • Appear at arraignments, bond hearings, pretrial conference, evidentiary hearings, plea negotiations, and jury and bench trials.
  • Develop case strategy, assess risk exposure, and advise clients regarding defense options and potential outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, prosecutors, law enforcement, court personnel, and expert witnesses.
  • Prepare cases for trial, including coordinating expert testimony, preparing exhibits, drafting pretrial motions, and developing trial strategy
  • Provide clients with clear guidance throughout the criminal process, ensuring informed decision-making and protection of constitutional rights

Qualifications:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
  • Active license and good standing with the state bar
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in criminal defense, with demonstrated courtroom experience
  • Proven ability to handle cases from intake through disposition, including trial experience
  • Strong knowledge of criminal procedure, rules of evidence, and constitutional law
  • Excellent oral advocacy, negotiation, and trial skills
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Exceptional client communication skills, including the ability to work with clients in high-stress situations
