We are looking for a highly motivated Digital Safety Counsel to join An American Business and Employment-Oriented Online Service Company. In this role, you will partner with stakeholders across the company, including Content Policy, Trust & Safety, Trust Product and Engineering, Government Relations, the Communications team, and others to drive smart, compliant, members-first solutions to some of the most challenging and complex regulatory issues that the Company faces worldwide.

Responsibilities:
  • Track, help influence, and develop compliance strategies for content moderation and online safety regulations impacting LinkedIn.
  • Stay up-to-date on, and proactively advise LinkedIn's Digital Safety Team about global policy issues and legal developments relating to social media platforms.
  • Provide legal support to LinkedIn's Content Policy team as it develops, implements, and maintains policies governing user-generated content.
  • Partner with colleagues in building and leveraging relationships with industry peers and other external stakeholders.
  • Provide legal guidance to LinkedIn's Trust Product and Trust Engineering teams in connection with trust initiatives and legal requirements.
  • Play an active role in fulfilling LinkedIn's mission of connecting the world's professionals to make them more productive and successful by being an integral member of our fast-paced, well-rounded, collaborative and FUN Legal & Public Policy Team.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • 3+ years' related legal experience
  • Law degree and active/current registration to practice law in your office location

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulations such as the Digital Services Act, the EU Code of Practice on Disinformation and Code of Conduct on Ilegal Hate Speech, the Online Safety Acts of Australia and the UK, etc.
  • Experience providing counsel on, or demonstrated understanding of, the issues faced by social media companies including issues relating to content moderation.
  • Experience working at a technology company or working with technology clients.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages.
  • Ability to work independently, but also as part of a diverse team, and to juggle and prioritize multiple competing tasks under tight timelines in a fast-paced, challenging environment;
  • Are comfortable with ambiguity and effective in an environment where you will be expected to give quick, clear, and concise legal advice to stakeholders of all levels;
  • Strong collaboration skills to successfully work across business functions and geographies;
  • Excellent communication skills, impeccable integrity, unquestionably good judgment, strong analytical skills and a keen sense of humor.
