About the Job:
Our Legal team monitors the legal landscape and provides strategic guidance to drive the business forward. By joining this team, you will work closely with colleagues across many A World Leading Food Company functions with a focus on Contracts, IS/IT and Cycles & Procurement. You will assess the risks, evaluate effects, and propose sustainable solutions that have a positive impact. We are currently looking to hire a Counsel –Contracts & IS/IT for a hybrid position based in Broomfield, CO or White Plains, NY.

The role will include the following scope:
  • Primary legal contact for IS/IT and other teams in providing strategic advice and legal support
  • Support transformation projects as well as technology and other complex transactions
  • Negotiate and draft of a wide range of commercial and technology agreements including SaaS Agreements, MSAs, Professional Services, Subscription Services, Outsourcing Agreements, Hardware Agreements, e-Commerce Agreements, Licensing Agreements, Cloud Services Agreements, and Data Protection Agreements
  • Analyze and interpret existing agreements to provide advice and guidance
  • Support areas including information systems and technology, digital, AI, GenAI, cybersecurity, outsourcing, and market data and usage
  • Provide accurate, reasoned, and concise legal advice to business teams at all levels and across multiple businesses without undue reliance on outside counsel
  • Work with Contracts team in developing, improving, and implementing templates, contracting guidelines, processes, and training
  • Handle a diverse range of duties and responsibilities effectively while exercising initiative and independent judgment in a fast-paced, multinational environment
  • Stay abreast of relevant and emerging trends in the law
  • Report directly to the Associate General Counsel, Contracts

About You:
  • Juris doctor degree from a top-tier law school
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department with specific IS/IT experience
  • Skilled attorney with experience in complex commercial transactions and a broad general knowledge of legal issues facing technology
  • Willing to travel occasionally for the role (10%)
  • Ability to identify legal issues quickly and communicate sound, understandable and practical legal recommendations to the business effectively
  • Possess strong work ethic, a “hands on” mentality, take ownership of work product, and can work in a multinational environment on a collaborative legal team
  • Strategic thinker with ability to work independently through issues, evaluate risks and make sound judgment or escalate issues as necessary in a fast-moving environment
  • Knowledge of IP, privacy and/or anti-trust a plus
  • Experience in implementing and using contract management software a plus
  • Strong oral communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • An ability to relate to a diverse client base and provide creative and clear counsel to the business to achieve company objectives
