Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Corporate Associate to join our Health Care Transactions Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in health care law and a desire to work on complex matters involving regulatory compliance, transactional work, managed care, and corporate governance.Our group provides advice on and addresses legal issues for a variety of healthcare entities, including agreements for a full range of transactions ranging in size from less than a million, to billions of dollars, including leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, strategic transactions, joint ventures, and sale transactions. The ideal candidate will have four to six years of corporate transactions, M&A, health law and regulatory experience. We are not currently accepting resumes from search firms for this position.
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school; admitted to practice in New York.
- 4-6 years of experience in health care law, either in a law firm, in-house, or government setting.
- Strong understanding of health care regulatory frameworks and transactional structures.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience drafting and negotiating contracts, including service agreements, employment agreements, and affiliation arrangements.
- Experience conducting legal research and analysis on federal and state health care regulations, including HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and the CARES Act.
- Experience preparing governance documents, bylaws, and policies for health care entities.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment including, but not limited to computers, telephones, printers, and copiers.
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.
Visual Acuity
Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Compensation & Benefits:
- The salary range for this position applies to New York. The salary range reflects a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a position. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $240,000 - $275,000 in New York.
