The position will be responsible for performing a variety of legal and regulatory tasks within An Industrial Supplies Company under the direction and supervision of the lawyers in the An Industrial Supplies Company legal department. An Industrial Supplies Company is an industry-leading provider of pipe, valves and valve automation, fittings, mill and industrial supplies, tools, safety products, and artificial lift systems to the upstream, midstream, and downstream & industrial markets as well as a leading supply chain solutions company with over 2,575 employees worldwide. This position will report to the Vice President and Deputy General Counsel.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review, draft, and negotiate domestic and international legal agreements for the upstream, midstream, and downstream energy sectors, as well as supply chain services, with special attention to warranties, indemnities, damages, penalties, and other risk related clauses.
- Work with the finance department and the business units to support in the negotiation, drafting, and enforcement of contracts including, but not limited to: Distributor Agreements, Master Service Agreements, Master Vendor Agreements, Equipment Sales Agreements, Consignment Agreements, Finance Agreements, Real Estate Transactions (Sales/Leases), Terms and Conditions, and Confidentiality Agreements, as well as ensuring compliance with An Industrial Supplies Company legal standards and applicable governing law.
- Provide advice and counsel to all levels of the business segments across An Industrial Supplies Company, including work with foreign subsidiaries across the world, specifically in Canada, Europe, Australia, Latin America, and the Middle East as to why certain revisions were made to any given agreement.
Job Requirements:
- 2-5 years of experience in-house or at a large law firm
- JD or LLM equivalent
- Strong presentation skills to key stakeholders within the organization
- Self-starter mentality with limited oversight
- Ability to effectively communicate with all departments across the company, identify and analyze issues, draft key documents, present clear recommendations, and ensure compliance.
- Ability to recognize potential legal problems and devise solutions.
- Effective drafting, negotiating, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Strong customer experience/service/delivery and business acumen.
- Ability to work collaboratively and as member of a team, while also empowering business leaders and colleagues.
