Description:

Position reports directly to Director - Legal responsible for Global Operations (including procurement), Trade Compliance, Research & Development, Products and US Government business

Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including supply, vendor, sales and service, IP license and consulting agreements
  • Support Director of Legal in counseling business teams on a range of legal topics, including intellectual property, commercial law, product marketing, privacy and other legal and regulatory areas including trade compliance
  • Collaborate with the global legal team to develop and implement best practices and policies in the areas of contracting, licensing, and compliance
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by Director of Legal

Requirements:
  • J.D. degree and currently licensed to practice in at least one U.S. state
  • 3-5 years of experience at a national or large regional law firm or similar in-house role Litigators and other specialists looking to transition to a commercial in-house role are welcome to apply with relevant contract drafting and negotiating experience.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, shift priorities and manage time effectively
  • Keen attention to detail, strong analytics, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and excellent organizational skills
  • Desire to learn from more senior lawyers in the organization and the ability to adapt to new challenges in a fast-paced high-tech environment
  • Familiarity with legal department digital tools and obsessed with finding efficiencies
  • Keen sense of curiosity and creativity in approaching complex challenges
  • Superior judgment with an understanding of when to ask for guidance or input, and how to spot and solve issues
  • Ability to apply the law to business situations in order to provide pragmatic, and business-focused advice to your internal business clients,
  • Cooperative attitude and an affinity for working with others to get the job done, on schedule
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and ability to translate legal into business
