Corporate Counsel will be responsible for supporting the business as needed on legal matters and for ensuring the day-to-day legal and regulatory compliance on behalf of the Company. This role will be engaging with multiple business departments to identify, guide and implement required changes and research various legal and regulatory related questions for the Company and its affiliates. Corporate Counsel will be accountable for complex contract review, negotiation, and implementation on behalf of the various aspects of the business.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Responsible for leading corporate strategic and tactical legal initiatives, specifically in the regulatory area of the business.
- Develop and implement processes and procedures for various business departments to comply with regulations and best practices that support operational efficiencies.
- Monitor, identify, and react to regulation changes, industry trends, and best practices impacting the business.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts with strong ability to streamline process in collaboration with impacted department.
- Understand and balance contractual risk with business progress and educate internal stakeholders on outcome in a clear and direct manner.
- Conduct legal research to vet, revise and confirm Company related materials.
- Identify, manage, and collaborate with outside counsel as needed on business guidance, litigation and other legal matters.
- All other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring to the Table:
- Licensed attorney with 7+ years of experience and strong knowledge of regulatory research/advice and contract review/negotiation.
- Significant contractual experience including drafting, reviewing, negotiating and delivering legal advice related to contracts in a balanced manner.
- Strong project management skills and experience implementing necessary legal changes to business practices in collaboration with others.
- Ability to understand regulatory standards and to adhere to those standards while delivering summaries to the business in a clear and concise manner.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend diagrams
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Work, Excel, and Visio.
- Must be resourceful and able to take initiative in a dynamic environment.
- Able to learn quickly and understand how changes affect multiple systems.
