Job Description:General Purpose:
The In-House Corporate Counsel will provide practical, business-focused legal advice across the organization, with primary responsibility for labor and employment matters and commercial transactions and disputes. This role partners closely with HR, management, and business teams to mitigate risk, support operations, and drive strategic initiatives while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Labor and Employment:
- Advise management and Human Resources on all aspects of employment law, including hiring, discipline, terminations, leaves of absence, accommodations, wage and hour compliance, and other employment law matters.
- Partner with the Compliance Manager and Human Resources to ensure company policies and practices are aligned with applicable law
- Assist with resolving employment related pre-litigation disputes and support Sr. Managing Counsel on employment related litigation matters.
- Support internal investigations regarding workplace complaints, discrimination, harassment and retaliation or other ethics or policy violations.
- Prepare and deliver training to management and employees on employment law compliance, policies and best practices.
- Provide support for broader enterprise ethics and culture initiatives.
Commercial Transactions:
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements.
- Provide legal advice on contract interpretation, risk allocation and dispute management.
- Support business teams in structuring transactions to align with enterprise objectives and risk tolerance.
- Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks and internal processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Advise on pre-litigation disputes and claims arising from commercial transactions.
Other Responsibilities:
- Research and otherwise monitor changes to relevant laws and regulations that impact the business.
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Legal Officer.
- Provide practical, actionable advice that strikes a balance between legal risks and business goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and law degree (JD) from an accredited law school
- Membership in good standing in the bar of at least one state
- A minimum of 3 years of legal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
Other Qualifications:
- Understand the Company's business (managed IT and cybersecurity services)
- Experience and comfort working with senior executives
- Strong writing, communication, analytical and counseling skills
- Highly organized and attentive to details
- Experience with legal project management
- Capacity to think strategically to identify issues and develop long-term solutions
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and manage major projects to successful completion
- Able to adapt to evolving competing priorities
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent presentation and project management skills, including development and implementation of procedures and guidelines
- Able to navigate a corporate environment and work with a variety of stakeholders

Compensation:
- The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $120,000 - $130,000.
