Job Description:We are currently hiring a FT Corporate Counsel of Regulatory & Commercial Transactions in hybrid Boston, MA
We are looking for an experienced attorney to join our Legal Team to provide support in the areas of regulatory compliance and commercial transactions. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years' experience in the CPG arena with a deep understanding of legal issues relating to product development, production compliance, distribution, and a background in business agreements, preferably including sponsorships and marketing services agreements.
A Hybrid position at A Beverage Company requires that our coworkers reside within commuting distance to be onsite according to their teams' weekly schedule.
What You'll Brew:
Commercial Contracts:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of agreements, with an emphasis in the areas of distribution, marketing, sponsorships, and promotions.
- Product Development and Production Compliance:
- Manage company's compliance with applicable Federal and State laws and regulations relating to development and production of alcoholic beverages, including but not limited to legal guidance, liaising with government officials, monitoring compliance and changes in laws, oversight and management of governmental approvals and licenses, risk analysis and managing outside counsel.
- Trade Practice Compliance:
- Manage and oversee trade practice compliance with industry laws, regulations, and guidelines, including but not limited to providing legal guidance, overseeing the review and approval of marketing materials, sweepstakes, coupons, marketing programs, and reviewing press releases.
- Counseling:
- Provide general legal advice to company employees and senior management on commercial and contractual risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Additional Support & Training:
- Provide legal training, conduct legal research, and assist with special projects/litigation as needed. Research and advise on franchise and other laws related to new product launches, transfers of brand rights, and territory assignments.
Minimum Qualifications:
- JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with at least one state bar
- Minimum 7 years of experience with a law firm and/or in-house, negotiating and drafting business agreements
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to lead transactions and resolve complex issues effectively
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, complex environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools

At the A Beverage Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $100,000 and $186,600. However, it's important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location. Additionally, this position qualifies for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance, and certain sales roles might include a car allowance.
