What You'll Do:
  • Report to the General Counsel and serve as the primary legal partner for U.S. marketing, compliance and vendor contracts
  • Review high-volume marketing content across a variety of channels, including digital advertising, print collateral, websites, social media campaigns, videos, and online review responses
  • Advise on disclaimer and disclosure placement, ensuring they are clear, conspicuous, and compliant with consumer protection standards
  • Maintain and enforce disclaimer and marketing guidelines and review protocol procedures
  • Ensure all promotional activities adhere to regulatory frameworks, including the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines, Lanham Act, CAN-SPAM, TCPA, and state-level consumer protection laws
  • Mitigate risks associated with evolving trends, such as ESG claims, artificial intelligence in creative assets, and e-commerce compliance
  • Oversee form management and contract negotiation for trade partners, site contractors, suppliers, consultants and other vendors
  • Manage the company's US privacy policy, terms and conditions, and monitor national and state data privacy and security rules related to targeted behavioral advertising, email marketing, and lead-generation funnels.
  • Structure and review promotions, including the official rules, eligibility requirements, and registration compliance for regional or national sweepstakes, contests, and loyalty programs
  • Draft, review, and negotiate marketing-related contracts, including master services agreements with creative agencies, media-buying agreements, event sponsorships, and intellectual property licenses
  • Protect US corporate brand assets by managing US intellectual property rights and filings, conducting preliminary trademark clearing, vetting copyright usage, and handling trademark infringement matters
  • Dispense legal guidance to divisions and corporate departments to support operational efficiency and mitigate risk
  • Providing training to team members on various legal matters
  • Other duties as assigned

What you bring:
  • J.D. degree from an accredited U.S. law school and an active license to practice law in Florida
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as an attorney with a heavy emphasis on vendor agreements, advertising, marketing, or consumer protection law. Experience within at a top law firm with proven representation of homebuilders and/or prior in-house experience with a homebuilding or consumer facing company is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate, demonstrate diplomacy, and interact well with senior business and legal leadership
  • Highly disciplined with the ability to assess risk, and provide timely, strategic and practical legal advice in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong drafting, negotiating and writing skills, including attention to detail, as well as the ability to solve problems in an efficient, business-friendly manner in time-pressured situations
  • Ability to identify and analyze complex issues and devise creative solutions and strategies for resolution
  • Ability to oversee a high volume of work, prioritize appropriately, and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel and PowerPoint, Abode Pro, and Docusign
  • Be willing to travel to various company offices and locations throughout North America
