Corporate Counsel Position Summary
This is a wonderful opportunity to come in-house at a strategic and earlier time in your career! Using legal and business acumen, this full-time, individual contributor role will strategize and collaborate with peers in various departments to proactively support, investigate and resolve matters of all types – both related to Labor & Employment and general commercial matters outside of Labor & Employment. The position is not visa eligible.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Independently advise various business departments on potential risks, options to mitigate risks and recommended legal strategies – specifically supporting the HR and Payroll departments, but also multiple other departments such as (for example) IT, Marketing, and Supply Chain.
  • Review, revise and draft legal documents and/or affect the formulation or implementation of management's policies and practices.
  • Strategize with and/or supervise outside counsel.
  • Collaborate with peers and other business leaders to ensure outcomes align with priorities and direction.
  • Partner with business leaders to ensure successful completion of significant business projects.
  • Analyze industry trends, case law and legislation and help execute mitigation plans as needed.

Required Qualifications/Skills
  • High level of integrity and professionalism
  • J.D. from accredited law school
  • Active member of at least one State's bar association
  • 1 to 5 years of Labor & Employment law experience (California specific experience is preferred but not required)
  • Legal experience in general business matters outside of Labor & Employment is preferred but not required. This is a position where Employment & Labor experience is what we hope you bring to the team and the team can help you learn the other commercial areas of law
  • Ability to interpret data/information and identify trends/develop strategies
  • Skilled at collaborating, reasoning, reviewing facts and weighing options, with the ability to manage uncertainty and ambiguity
  • Ability to develop partnerships with a wide variety of team members/business leaders
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust workload accordingly
  • Ability to prioritize workflow, working independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Effective, skillful and professional in communications, both written and oral
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office® applications
  • Ability to work onsite at a Company location

Physical and Mental Requirements:
