Description:
Hino Motors Manufacturing is an OEM that assembles trucks in West Virginia, automotive components in Arkansas, and operates a parts distribution center in California.We are currently seeking an IT Security Manager located in corporate office in Novi, MI reporting directly to IT General Manager. This individual will be responsible for improving and maturing the IT process for regulatory and general controls and support efforts to ensure HMM IT is always compliant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including OEM supplier procurement agreements, indemnity agreements, confidentiality agreements, license agreements, inter-company agreements, and other transactional documents
- Lead the monthly legal invoice process, including intake, review, approval, tracking by firm and matter, and reporting to senior leadership on spend and budget impact
- Provide legal counsel to cross-functional stakeholders on contract and commercial law matters
- Lead the development, drafting, and implementation of internal policies and procedures
- Prepare reports, presentations, memoranda, and other business-critical documentation
- Support regulatory compliance initiatives, including data privacy efforts such as CCPA compliance
- Lead annual risk management activities, including procurement of insurance coverage, in partnership with the General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel
- Oversee the coordination and management of enterprise auto insurance claims
- Perform additional duties in support of the legal department, including budget preparation, invoice reporting, and participation in cross-functional meetings
Education & Experience Requirements:
Law Degree from an ABA accredited law school and admitted to practice in good standing in at least one state (preferably Michigan) or the ability to obtain membership in a reasonable amount of time
Skills Required:
- Demonstrated experience reviewing, researching, drafting, and negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, including supplier agreements, indemnity agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other transaction-related documents
- Strong understanding of laws governing commercial transactions, with a proven ability to interpret and apply legal principles to complex business scenarios
- Excellent communication and client service skills, with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across functions
- Highly adaptable, with the ability to respond effectively to evolving business needs and priorities
- Self-motivated, proactive professional capable of managing diverse responsibilities (including administrative) and addressing challenges independently
- Clean disciplinary record with respect to law license, with no history of sanctions or professional misconduct
