Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Corporate Counsel licensed to practice in Indiana (or able to obtain reciprocity) to support our rapidly growing business. Reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, you will partner cross-functionally with sales, marketing, product, finance and business development to provide commercial and regulatory legal guidance that advances the company's strategic objectives in the Americas region. You will draft, negotiate and manage a broad range of contracts, advise on product sales and compliance issues, and help build scalable legal processes and procedures.
What you will do:
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide variety of commercial contracts including sales, service, installation, SaaS, marketing and credit.
- Support government sales transactions ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and contract requirements.
- Provide legal guidance on product liability issues, including risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, product, finance, and business development to align legal strategies with business goals.
- Assist with business strategy development from a legal perspective including maintaining and updating templates and contracting processes to align with business strategies.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations affecting product manufacturing, sales and marketing.
- Manage external legal counsel as needed for specialized matters.
- Identify legal risks and develop proactive solutions to minimize potential exposure.
- Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on contract management, commercial and regulatory compliance, and legal best practices.
- Stay current on industry trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes impacting the business.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to practice law in Indiana (or ability to obtain reciprocity).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a law firm or in-house (manufacturing company is preferred).
- Strong track record drafting, negotiating and managing a variety of commercial contracts and strategic collaborations.
- In depth experience with sales, service, installation, SaaS, marketing, government sales, credit arrangements, and product liability.
- Demonstrated ability to counsel business clients, build trust, and drive results in a fast-paced environment with a positive, adaptable and “can-do” attitude.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills with the ability to balance legal risk management with pragmatic business solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and various levels of leadership.
