The Target Pay Range for this position is as follows:
- Loveland, Colorado: The Target Pay Range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000 annually.
- New York, NY: The Target Pay Range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000 annually.
At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and budget.
Job Purpose/Overview
The Counsel, Innovation, Regulatory & Pharmacy Fulfillment will support a broad range of regulatory, compliance, and innovation initiatives across the Division, with a primary focus on Vetsource's licensed pharmacy fulfillment operations. Reporting to the Senior Counsel, R&D and Innovation, this role provides legal support across complex, highly regulated activities including pharmacy operations, prescription fulfillment, distribution, regulatory compliance, commercial transactions, and risk management.
The successful candidate will be a business‑minded, practical, and proactive legal partner to Vetsource and R&D teams, supporting a fast‑growing, mission‑critical business that operates at the intersection of veterinary medicine, pharmacy, logistics, and digital commerce.
Working in a highly collaborative manner with Mars Science and Diagnostics and the broader Mars Legal community (including Sustainability, Compliance, Marketing Properties, Intellectual Property, Corporate Development, and Privacy), the Counsel is accountable for delivering holistic legal guidance that enables compliant growth, protects licenses and brands, manages regulatory risk, and supports innovation, while ensuring adherence to company policies and applicable laws.
The preferred candidate will demonstrate the maturity, judgment, and integrity required to serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and operate with a high degree of autonomy in a highly regulated environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Support Global Vetsource teams on strategic as well as a wide variety of day-to-day matters, including in compliance, regulatory, distribution, litigation, and other business transactions.
- Utilize a business and strategic mindset to recommend legal solutions that unlock growth opportunities and meet core business objectives.
- Effectively assess and balance risks and opportunities to manage risks intelligently and influence business decision-making.
- Collaborate and partner with the regional and local cross-segment Legal counterparts across Mars, Incorporated to ensure a consistent and aligned “One Mars” approach on key matters and issues.
- Effectively and efficiently manage outside counsel
- Operate with the Five Principles in mind and using as part of decision making
Education and Experience:
- J.D. from an accredited law school with a minimum of 6 years of legal experience required. Corporate, regulatory, litigation and transaction experience in a well-respected law firm required
- In‑house experience in a complex, growth‑oriented business strongly preferred
- Experience preferred in highly regulated industries including pharmacy, with IP, life science, healthcare/animal and pharmacy
- Broad-based legal experience supporting complex organizations, including drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements and managing litigation, with a solid foundational understanding of the relevant commercial laws.
- Familiarity with federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations, including:
- State Boards of Pharmacy
- DEA and controlled substance regulations
- FDA and FTC considerations
- Prescription fulfillment, dispensing, and distribution requirements
- Experience advising on commercial agreements and operational issues involving:
- Pharmacy fulfillment and distribution
- Third‑party logistics providers and wholesalers
- Veterinarians, clinics, and healthcare professionals
- Technology‑enabled healthcare or e‑commerce platforms

Working Conditions:
The associate is regularly required to apply manual dexterity, including hand/wrist flexibility, for computer keyboarding. The associate frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is frequently required to hear and speak in order to use the telephone, make presentations and communicate with people in an office environment. The associate is occasionally required to sit and stoop, bend, kneel, or crouch. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
The associate will primarily work in a typical office environment including use of cubicles, computers and overhead lighting. Temperature extremes will be minimal to nonexistent. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The associate will be required to use a computer, spreadsheets, data base management, email, and the Internet. The associate is frequently required to use a calculator; fax, copy machine, and phone system. The associate must occasionally use media equipment such as an overhead projector, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.
