What we're looking for:
We're seeking a Corporate Counsel III to join a collaborative legal team supporting a global business. In this role, you'll primarily focus on trademark law, while expanding your expertise into product regulatory and advertising law.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead trademark clearance, registration, and portfolio management
  • Partner closely with Marketing and R&D to guide brand usage and claims
  • Evaluate product claims and help ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Identify legal risks and provide practical, business-oriented solutions
  • Build knowledge in product regulatory law through hands-on learning and mentorship

A typical day might include:
  • Reviewing a new product name for trademark clearance
  • Advising marketing teams on compliant messaging and claims
  • Collaborating with R&D on product labeling considerations
  • Researching regulatory developments impacting product claims
  • Partnering with colleagues to proactively solve legal challenges

Travel: Minimal if any

Required Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar membership (or ability to obtain Michigan licensure)
  • 10+ years of experience as an attorney within a law firm and/or corporate legal environment
  • Experience in trademark law, including clearance and registration
  • Experience advising business partners on legal risk
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with non-legal stakeholders
