About the role:
As Corporate Counsel, you will be a key member of the LifeMD Legal & Compliance teams, providing a broad spectrum of services and support across the entire business. We are seeking a willing learner who can collaborate effectively, lead strategic initiatives, and work autonomously. A successful Corporate Counsel will have deep curiosity and drive, sound business judgment, and comfortableness being uncomfortable. This is a hybrid position – 3 days/week in the NYC office.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal and compliance guidance to all business lines related to healthcare technology, privacy, digital advertising, media and marketing, support of a comprehensive telehealth platform, 50-state affiliated medical group, and a modern 503A pharmacy
  • Ensure advertising and marketing compliance across company brands in various media forms (digital, print, social, audio, visual). Liaise with advertising, marketing, and technology teams to review and approve steady flow of evolving creatives and technology implementations
  • Lead the creation, drafting, review, and negotiation of complex commercial contracting across a wide breadth of third-party suppliers, partners, and vendors
  • General corporate law matters, including SEC reporting and filings, corporate finance, SOX compliance, and business transaction support
  • Private payer and government insurance-related work, including compliance with Stark, Anti-Kickback, and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse laws. Affiliated medical group compliance support
  • Ensure compliance with global, federal, and state privacy, data protection and healthcare laws, such as HIPAA, CCPA, CPRA and the FTC's HBNR, and assess their applicability to company products and services. Ensure company terms and conditions, privacy policies, customer consents, and related documents are kept up to date with changing business needs and an evolving regulatory landscape, and that such documents cohesively and logically integrate with one another
  • Conduct departmental, office, and executive trainings and writings concerning relevant laws, regulations, and company policies

Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor degree from a top 40, ABA-accredited U.S. law school
  • Member of the bar of a U.S. jurisdiction, preferably New York and/or New Jersey
  • 3+ years of in-house, Big Law (Top 100), and/or government agency legal experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Digital health, healthcare, direct-to-consumer advertising, technology, or medicine/pharmacy experience
  • Ability to embrace diving into unfamiliar areas of law and business, providing sound advice that balances risk relative to business interests
  • Solution-oriented and focused on partnering constructively to facilitate business objectives
  • Ability to operate and excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, navigating amid uncertainty with a can-do, problem-solving attitude
  • Have an egoless mentality, value collaboration, and be ready to put in hard work to accomplish whatever demands the job presents
