The Un-carrier seeks a collaborative, hardworking attorney to join its privacy team.

The Corporate Counsel, Data Governance & Privacy will provide legal and strategic guidance for enterprise-wide data governance and data stewardship programs. You'll work closely with colleagues across the legal department and business partners throughout the company to deliver practical, creative legal solutions to complex challenges.

What you'll do in your role.
  • Provide legal support for T-Mobile's enterprise data governance and data stewardship programs, advising cross-functional stakeholders on the development and implementation of data governance processes and controls.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel on data lifecycle management, including records retention, defensible deletion, data minimization, enterprise data inventory, data access governance, and third-party data management.
  • Advise on compliance with domestic and international privacy laws and regulations and other legal requirements governing data governance, retention, and access, and assessing legal risks associated with evolving regulatory expectations.
  • Develop legal guidance, policies, standards, training, and playbooks to promote consistent enterprise practices related to data governance, records management, and data stewardship.
  • Partner with legal and business teams to support enterprise governance initiatives and further strengthen organizational readiness for litigation, investigations, audits, and regulatory inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications: While the quality and accomplishments of a person's career will be the determining factor, candidates must have the following requisite qualifications:
  • JD with at least three 2 – 4 years of experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable guidance
  • Comfort engaging with stakeholders at all levels of an organization, from technical teams to senior leadership
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-moving environment

Preferred Qualifications
: The ideal candidate will also have some or all of the following:
  • 3+ years' experience with US and/or international privacy or security laws and regulations. Passion for mitigating risk in evolving privacy and security regulatory landscapes
  • Appetite for innovation and aptitude for creative problem-solving
  • Deep curiosity with a drive to understand the business goals and product details to drive informed decision-making Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong people and motivational skills
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
