Sheppard Mullin Richter and Hampton LLP is seeking a full-time Compliance Attorney for a permanent, salaried position (with benefits) that supports compliance work for private equity and other corporate transactions.This position can be based in any of the following offices: Los Angeles, New York, Century City, Chicago, Dallas, Del Mar, San Diego, San Francisco, Orange County, Houston, or Silicon Valley. A remote option is available.
Responsibilities include managing transaction document execution and filings, monitoring client legal handbook and policy compliance, preparing closing files, and providing other support to the firm's private equity attorneys and clients.
The role offers an off-track position with a predictable workload and the opportunity for the attorney to become an integral, long-term member of the firm's Private Equity Team. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in high-level corporate and compliance work at an AmLaw 100 firm.
Requirements:
- Active member of the CA, IL, NY or TX bar in good standing (other states to be considered)
- 1+ years compliance or related experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; professional manner for client interactions.
- Ability to take ownership of discrete projects and be able to work without direct supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines, both on own and as part of a team.
- Available to work overtime.
