The Opportunity:
The Corporate Attorney will be involved in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing a wide variety of contracts—including vendor and commercial agreements, service contracts, and NDAs—and advising internal clients on contract interpretation and legal risk. The attorney will also lead negotiations and provide legal counsel on strategic partnerships, network membership, and corporate investment. The attorney will support Product teams with legal guidance throughout the development lifecycle. Additional responsibilities include advising on corporate governance, insurance matters, information security, and privacy issues, while acting as a trusted legal partner to cross-functional teams.

Day in the Life:
  • Review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of complex commercial contracts, such as vendor and commercial agreements, strategic partnership agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on contract interpretation, legal risk, and the practical implications of contract terms on business operations
  • Lead negotiations and provide legal counsel on strategic partnerships, network membership agreements, and corporate investment transactions.
  • Collaborate with the product organization and cross-functional stakeholders to provide legal guidance throughout the product development lifecycle, including go-to-market strategies and regulatory considerations.
  • Advise on corporate insurance matters, including coverage evaluation, policy review, and claims-related advice.
  • Provide legal support on corporate governance matters, including entity management, registration, and internal policies.
  • Advise on information security and privacy issues, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
  • Assist senior internal counsel with matters including legal research projects and commercial disputes.
  • Act as a trusted legal partner to cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Finance, Technology, Product, and Operations, supporting day-to-day legal needs and strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to travel as needed to successfully perform position responsibilities, and handle disruptive work schedules, deadlines and unpredictable events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Legal department and broader business objectives.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate Degree and JD Degree (from ABA accredited law school) required. Admission to a state bar with an active membership in good standing required.
  • Five (5) years' experience as an attorney in drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts.
  • Ability to quickly and accurately identify legal and business issues and risks
  • Familiarity with the Gramm-Leach Bliley Act, National Credit Union Administration regulations and data privacy laws preferred
  • Exposure to contract disputes, including dispute resolution and/or litigation is preferred
  • Experience within a corporate legal environment preferred.
  • Experience working in the technology or financial services sector preferred.

Pay Equity
$110,100.00 - $143,100.00

Actual Pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
