Responsibilities:
Mintz is seeking an associate with 3+ years of strategic M&A and private equity experience to join our corporate practice in San Diego or San Francisco. Candidates must have experience with acquisitions, divestitures, mergers and private equity transactions. Candidates must have the ability to provide efficient legal service both independently and as part of a team, be willing to quickly integrate into our robust national corporate practice, commit to providing the highest quality of client service in support of a broad range of complex transactions and be dedicated to professional development consistent with this on-track partnership position. Strong academic credentials, excellent critical reasoning skills and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts are required.
This role is designed for a lawyer who wants to build toward senior client-facing responsibility in a growing, entrepreneurial platform. Mintz is looking for a mid-level associate to join its corporate practice in San Francisco or San Diego, with a focus on private equity and strategic M&A transactions. This is an opportunity to work directly with partners and clients on sponsor-side acquisitions, growth investments, portfolio company matters, strategic acquisitions and divestitures, and exit transactions in a practice that combines sophisticated deal work with smaller, partner-led teams and meaningful responsibility from day one.
Qualifications:
- Graduated with a JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school
- Must be admitted or eligible for admission in California
- Must have 3+ years of strategic M&A and private equity experience, ideally gained at a leading national or international law firm
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Professionalism in working and engaging with clients and colleagues
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and balance competing responsibilities
- Ability to stay organized and exercise extreme attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings
