O'Melveny Silicon Valley—home to the firm's highly regarded Momentum Emerging Companies team—works with founders, investors, and key executives to support the growth of innovative companies, from early-stage startups to multi-billion dollar global businesses. We've closed venture capital transactions at a one-per-business-day pace for each of the last 12 years. In 2023 alone, we worked with more than 50 “unicorn” private companies valued at more than US$1 billion, and helped more than 40 venture-backed companies “exit” via sale or IPO, generating more than US$10 billion in proceeds for founders, investors, and other stakeholders.

The Silicon Valley office is seeking an associate with 2-3 years of experience to join our Corporate group. Our clients range from startups, midsize and large public and private companies to venture capital and private equity investors, and investment banks. We represent them in a broad range of transactions, across a variety of sectors in the technology and life sciences industries.

Candidates should have a corporate transactional background, including experience in venture capital, M&A and/or private equity transactions, drafting and reviewing sophisticated corporate documentation, assisting transactions and ongoing clients with general corporate matters. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are interested in playing major roles in all aspects of M&A and venture capital transactions and other matters as a part of our emerging companies practice with the ability to interface directly and frequently with clients and opposing counsel.

Strong academic credentials, exceptional written, interpersonal and communication skills are required. Candidates must be comfortable on deal teams, value teamwork and collaboration, but also be able to handle individual responsibilities. Background in securities, M&A and venture capital transactions is required.

The salary range in Silicon Valley for this role is $235,000-$260,000 and represents the firm's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, and location.
