The Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Contracts Attorney to join our legal team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and managing a wide variety of contracts and legal documents that support business operations. This role ensures compliance with legal standards and company policies while mitigating risk and protecting the company's interests.

Success in this role requires sound legal judgment, strong business acumen, and the ability to work collaboratively across functions in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will bring a strong command of contract law, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to translate complex legal issues into practical guidance for business teams.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of contracts, including confidentiality-nondisclosure agreements, vendor agreements, master product and services agreements, and consulting contracts.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on contractual rights, obligations, and risks.
  • Collaborate with procurement, finance, sales, IT, and other departments to ensure alignment on contract terms.
  • Assist with contract lifecycle management, including organization, tracking, renewal, and termination processes.
  • Maintain and update standard templates and contract playbooks.
  • Provides training to other departments on contract requirements and other legal matters.
  • Conduct legal research and stay current with applicable laws and regulations affecting the business.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school required.
  • Active and good standing membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant legal experience, with a focus on contract law and transactional work (preferably a combination of in-house and law firm experience).
  • Prior experience in the life sciences or biotechnology industry is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of business and contract law; general understanding of intellectual property law concepts.
  • Excellent legal writing, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with contract management systems is a plus.
