We are currently seeking a Contract Staff Attorney to join our expanding team.

Position Overview:
This is a contract-based role for an experienced civil litigation attorney who is conﬁdent managing complex matters, appearing in both state and federal court, and maintaining a consistent caseload in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through resolution
Draft, review, and ﬁle pleadings, motions, and federal court ﬁlings
Conduct legal research and develop strategic case approaches
Represent clients in state and federal court hearings, mediations, and trials
Handle all phases of discovery, including depositions, interrogatories, and document
production
Ensure compliance with federal and state procedural rules and court deadlines
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
Provide case evaluations and legal recommendations
Collaborate with internal team members, including case managers and support staff
Maintain accurate and timely billing records to meet required billable hours

Required Qualiﬁcations

Licensed in the State of Texas
Minimum 8+ years of legal practice
Must be knowledgeable in three or more of the following practice areas:
(i) Probate/Estate Planning;
(ii) Real Estate;
(iii) Business Transaction & Litigation; and
(iv) Family Law.
Demonstrated experience in civil litigation (required)
Trial experience (required)
Ability to meet a minimum of 60 billable hours bi-weekly (120+ hours per month)
Strong ability to independently manage cases and deadlines
Ability to accept fulltime employment after expiration of contract
Capability to go to court within Harris County and any of the contiguous counties

Preferred Qualiﬁcations

Experience handling federal litigation matters
Strong written and oral advocacy skills

Work Structure

Contract position for 6+ months minimum

Although this position is remote, the Attorney must be available for court appearances as needed
